About Drawing Dice

Drawing Dice gives you something to draw when you sit down with a sketchbook and nothing comes to mind. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and it's made by a person.

Who makes it

Drawing Dice is made by Borja, who draws by hand and builds small web tools. It started as a page on another of his sites and became a site of its own in October 2026.

How the prompts are made

The generator puts together a subject, something it's doing, a place and sometimes a twist, from lists of 50 to 200 entries each. Hand-picked mode has almost 1,200 complete ideas in 12 categories, and there are 46 art challenges.

The lists started as drafts written with AI help. Borja then chose and edited them by hand, taking out what didn't make sense or wasn't right for a family audience, and that's how they keep growing: every new entry is read and edited by a person.

No AI images

Many people who draw by hand don't want AI art around their work. Drawing Dice has no AI-generated pictures, and when it shows example drawings, they'll be drawings people make and send in.

What it doesn't do

  • No ads.
  • No account. The prompts you save and the ones you've drawn stay in your own browser.
  • No tracking cookies. We count which buttons people use, without cookies, to know what to improve. The privacy policy has the details.
  • Nothing unsuitable for a classroom: every random roll is family-friendly. Teachers have their own page.
