A few tips
Same time every day
Tie it to something you already do, like breakfast or the bus home. A habit sticks when it doesn't need deciding.
Keep it short
10 to 30 minutes is plenty. Set the timer and stop when it rings, finished or not.
Don't start over
If a drawing goes wrong, keep going and fix it on the page. You learn more from finishing than from erasing.
Look back at the end
Put all 30 drawings side by side on the last day. The difference between day 1 and day 30 is the best part.
Questions
and honest answers
How does a 30-day drawing challenge work?
Draw one prompt a day for 30 days, in order. Week 1 warms you up, week 2 is animals and nature, week 3 people and characters, week 4 imagination, and the last two days look back at how far you've come.
How long should each drawing take?
10 to 30 minutes is plenty. The habit matters more than finished pieces, so set the timer and stop when it rings.
What if I miss a day?
Carry on with the next prompt, or do two the next day. Nobody's counting, and skipping a day doesn't undo the others.
Is there a challenge that follows the calendar?
Yes. Each month has its own drawing challenge with a prompt for every day, the same for everyone who joins, so you can draw along with friends or a class.
